Metallic Color Pigments are special effect pigments composed of mica nano-particles coated with various organic and inorganic pigments to create pearlescent and iridescent effects that mimic the natural look of stone and rock formations. These unique pigments are designed to be blended with our 100% solids clear MCR Epoxy Middle Coat. When the metallic particles are mixed with epoxy, they give the coating a shine that reflects light and creates eye-catching dramatic effects.

As beautiful and stunning as these floors look, they are considered a high-performance floor coating that is designed to last for years. For the first coat, our water-based epoxy primer needs to be installed. We recommend applying a tinted primer and find that black makes the metallic colours pop. The second coat involves the actual Designer Metallic Epoxy coat, followed by the third coat of clear epoxy on top.

1.MCR- Primer---Two Components Floor Coating System 2:1 Mix Ratio.A+B
Waterproof Barrier, Against Moisture, Corrosion Inhibiting, Excellent Adhesion Designed for commercial, industrial, and residential concrete, cement, wood and tile floor coating, to penetrate deeper into the pores in order to achieve a better mechanical bond and produce a thinner film or tie coat that the much thicker base coat can chemically fuse with.
2.MCR Middle Coat---Two Components Floor Coating System 2:1 Mix Ratio A+B (mix the pigments)
Waterproof Barrier, Against Moisture, Impact Resistance, Scratch Resistance, Designed for commercial, industrial, and residential buildings. Concrete, cement, wood and tile floor coating, can be used with metallic Color Pigments, Solid Color Pigments, Color Flakes, Quartz, Color Granules, Mica Flakes, Polymer Color Flakes, Paint Chips, Color Glitters.
3.MCR- Top Coat / High Gloss Top Coat---Two Components Floor Coating System 2:1 Mix Ratio A+B
Waterproof Barrier, Against Moisture, Impact Resistance, Scratch Resistance, Anti-slip and UV Stable
Designed for commercial, industrial, and residential buildings. Concrete, cement, wood and tile floor coating, can be applied directly over Epoxy Middle Coating for a high gloss protective finish.
MCR Primer - Thickness 1mm- Quantity/sqm 150grams
MCR Middle Coat - Thickness 2mm- 5mm Quantity/sqm 300grams + pigments 100grams -300grams no set rules as desired
MCR Top Coat - Thickness 1mm- Quantity/sqm 150grams

How to apply MCR metallic on your floor?
Step by Step Guide to installing your bespoke MCR floor
Step 1. Prepare the surface.
Preparation of the substrate is necessary in order to ensure adhesion between the MCR product and the substrate. Suitable methods are sanding or diamond-grinding. Any surfaces that have been contaminated with oils may also require chemical cleaning.
Step 2. Cleaning of the floor.
Use an industrial vacuum that picks up even the smallest dust particles. The floor must be cleaned of all specks of dust and residues before starting to prime. Otherwise, you will have various particles trapped within the coat and adhesion will be significantly weakened. The less micro-dust on the surface the less primer you will need.
Step 3. Prime the floor with a suitable primer of MCR
Always prime the floor, don't believe claims that priming is not necessary. Priming will give your floor a longer life and better adhesion to the substrate. Priming will seal the substrate thus eliminating the risks of bubbles and gasses. Priming helps reduce the amount of product that will be required in the later stages. Ensure that the areas are ventilated properly. It is common to coat two layers of primer in order to properly seal the floor. Use a proper electrical mixer to mix the A and B component.
Step 4. Fill all cracks, holes etc.
This step can also take place before priming. For thin cracks, it may be necessary to slice them with a diamond cutter before filling in order to improve anchoring. There are different types of fast curing fillers and self-levelling materials on the market check with your local supply store, get in touch with us if more advice is required, we will be happy to help.
Step 5. Mix Primer coat A+B 2:1 ratio by weight
Mix A+B first for 2 min then prime the floors with a roller, only prime if it has been prepared in advance and all cracks filled as this will save you time, money and materials.
Step 6. Mixing of MCR A+B 2:1 ratio+pigment
First Mix the hardener (part B) for 2 minutes after that pour component (part A) and mix for another 3min use an electric mixer for continuous movement -This step is very important- then add the pigments gradually as desired
Adjust the speed of the power tool accordingly start at lower speed first.
Poor mixing will lead to a tacky floor!
Leave to settle for a few minutes allow bubbles to disperse.
Step 7. Apply the mixed product.
Once mixed pour the product in a random pattern across the area you wish to apply your designer floor. Using a notched squeegee spread the product gently around until you have an even coat on the surface of the floor. Then use a good quality roller, as poor quality rollers may start to shed, we recommend spiked rollers for metallic MCR floors as this type will remove air bubbles.
